Pluto Demoted
Apparently Pluto is no longer a planet.
Yep that’s right. Check out this article in The Washington Post.
Our solar system now has only eight planets. Think of all the textbooks that will have to be rewritten.
Poor Pluto.

My heart goes out to Ceres. It had once been classified as a planet (in the 1800s), lost that standing, and almost regained it in an effort to keep Pluto. I'm not sure this definition will work. Jupitor hasn't cleared its orbit either. There are groups working to restore Pluto's stataus. We may yet see a 9, 10, 12 or more planet solar system.

Hi Ivy. Thanks for dropping by.
Oh, yes, Ceres. I have forgotten about Ceres. It's in the asteriod belt, right?
It must be tough to keep getting reclassified. It must be a real crisis to Pluto's (and Ceres') self-image. ;)
