"The Cat Won't Stop Playing" accepted at EDF
My story "The Cat Won't Stop Playing" has just been accepted at Every Day Fiction. I don't know yet when it will be published, but I'll let you know.
I have to thank the EDF editors for their help with this one. They responded to the original version of the story with a rewrite request and helpful feedback, which greatly improved the story.

Rick Springfield as "Emerging Artist"?!?!?!?
I've lost some respect for my friendly, neighborhood Borders.
Here's why:
I went into Borders today to get Rick Springfield's new album "Venus in Overdrive" and found it in the Emerging Artists section.
Seriously?!
How does a decades-spanning career in music, a Grammy award, 17 Top 40 hits, something like 20 albums, and over 18 million records sold make you an "Emerging Artist?"
Here's a clue, Borders: it doesn't. Rick Springfield is NOT an "Emerging Artist." Duh.
To add insult to injury, Rick's CD is sharing a shelf with Miley Cyrus. That's just wrong.
I'm enjoying "Venus in Overdrive" though. :)
You can buy it yourself here:
